Enjoy a unique holiday experience at an amazing restored industrial museum. The Schroeder Saddletree Factory features America’s last saddletree manufacturer dating to the 19th century and the home of two generations of the Schroeder family. Saddletrees are the internal skeletons of saddles.
The family’s home includes exhibits and a restored early 20th century parlor where the German immigrant family celebrated Christmas. The house will be decked out for Christmas with traditional German decorations while the factory will feature rustic decorations based on the products made there – saddletrees, stirrups, hames, gloves – and other tools of the trade. With informative exhibits and one-of-a-kind machinery, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
